The Cannery, a mixed use development project, was born of the vision for commercial real estate expansion in the Village of Fairport, NY.
“We speculate where growth will be,” Matt Lester said. “We took an analytical look at the market and realized there was a void in Fairport for commercial real estate. They have the neighborhoods that will support this type of project. We back into it that way, then we go find the real estate.”
The vacant warehouse at 25 Parce Avenue, home to the former American Can Company (1908), was deemed a perfect fit for the project. Streamline obtained the property and the 235 space parking lot. The former warehouse/industrial buildings were developed into a mixed-use facility with retail, restaurant, office, and flex space.
The old cannery now houses retail, smaller restaurants and two athletic facilities. All but three spaces comprising 5,800 square feet have been leased. The 199-foot factory smokestack serves as a welcoming beacon at the main entryway.
The Cannery is now home to Faircraft Brauhaus, Compane Trattoria and Smokin’ Hot Chicks BBQ, FairPour Coffee. Together with their neighbors Iron Smoke Whiskey and Triphammer Bierwerks. The Cannery has created a vibrant and exciting destination.
